College Senior pictures-- what better way to commemorate the last 4 amazing years?! I met Rebecca on a sunny, almost Spring day on the campus of W&L. Open and warm, Rebecca was a natural in front of the camera as we walked around campus and saw the buildings where she attended class for the last few years. In the middle of downtown Lexington, Washington and Lee's campus is filled with a beautiful grassy commons surrounded by stately academic buildings.
Rebecca majored in Politics and has spent has spent her last four years getting involved in campus activities. In the first few minutes of meeting Rebecca, I could tell that she was a natural leader! She is an active member of the Hearing Advisor Program where a group of students are responsible for upholding the honor and conduct codes of W&L. She has also spent time as a volunteer Young Life Leader at the local middle schools in Rockbridge County. Young Life is a Christian outreach ministry where community members form relationships with high school and middle school students. As a former Young Life Leader myself, I am so encouraged when I see caring people take an interest in the lives of young people and form lasting connections.
During our session, we walked around several buildings that held memories for Rebecca-- her favorite place to hang out on campus is the commons. W&L's campus is unique because it seamlessly transitions into downtown Lexington. One of Rebecca's favorite things to do during her time in school is to try out new restaurants in town. Her recent favorite is a fun beer joint with delicious pizzas. As a local I am thankful for these college folks who are some of the best customers of Lexington's coffee shops and cafes- they help our food scene flourish!
It was a gift to commemorate this special occasion in Rebecca's life before she's off on her next adventure. I know that the memories she made on campus and throughout Lexington will always be treasured!
